Making Calls from your mobile

For example, if you need to call the USA when on the move, you can do so from your mobile at just 1p a minute by simply sending a text message that says simply ' CCD ' (without the quotes) to the short number 80550. You will receive a reply text usually in seconds that contains a PIN and the access numbers that you may use to call. This is a virtual phonecard that you can purchase with just a text message.

To make the call, just dial the access number 0207 124 6666 from your mobile phone and then press SEND. When you hear the recorded message announcing your credit, enter your destination number. Do NOT press SEND a second time.

That's it! You are connected.

Remember you can use the PIN in your received text message to call from any other UK landline or mobile.

Tricks to use when calling from your mobile

You can call from your mobile using our service without having to keep dialing both the access number and the international number every time you use the service.

Here's how:

Simply add a pause between the access number and the international number you wish to dial:

Eg: You want to call Mum in Australia. So, you create a new entry called 'Mum' in your contact list on your mobile and then :

Enter the access number e.g. 0207 124 6666
Enter a 'pause'. This is done as follows depending on your brand of mobile

Nokia Phones:

⇒ A 'p' should appear after * has been pressed 3 times: ie 02071246666 (*** will show a 'p')

Siemens/Panasonic Phones:

⇒ A '+' should appear after 0 has been pressed and held.

Motorola / Ericsson Phones / Sony:

⇒ A 'p' should appear after * has been pressed and held.

Now enter your international destination number in full including 00 and press 'Save'.

That's it - next time you want to call 'Mum' simply find Mum in your phone-book/contact list and press call!

User Information

This service can be used from the mobile number used for the subscription to our service or from another phone using a PIN. You must have the bill payer's permission before using the service. The Text to 80550 costs £5 plus your standard mobile network rates for the request message and is charged by your service provider. Minutes shown based on single use of card. Each call is charged at the per minute rate for the relevant country. A connection charge equal to twice the pence per minute rate (up to a maximum of 30 pence) for the relevant country is also charged per call. An access charge is also charged depending how you access the service: 0207 - your service provider's standard rate or included in your call package, 0800 - your service provider's standard rate plus a 2p/minute (20p/minute from a payphone) surcharge to the pence per minute rate for the relevant country. Higher rates generally apply when calling international mobiles and premium rate numbers. Call charges include VAT and are charged per minute, rounded to the nearest penny.
